In the Beginning

I didn't take up sport until Aug 2005 and it was down to having sciatica up my right leg constantly for 10 months that I did. It was part of my rehab to do a little running and I haven't stopped since.

I started training for the London Marathon 2006 as I was hoping to get in first time. I did my first ever race, St Neot's Half Marathon in November and managed 01:49 which I've managed to get down to 01:28.
I did get in the FLM and managed 03:48 which after another few attempts I got down to 03:24 in the VLM 2010. After completing 4 marathons and missing out on London 2008 I took my 1st step into triathlon.

I did 4 sprints and a standard distance in 2008, the sprints were excellent but as I hadn't trained properly for the standard and it was last minute I had a bit of a wake up call. In 2009 I did a few more sprints some standard distance and a middle distance event. I enjoyed that year but my run off the bike wasn't very good and I was getting cramp in my stomach regularly on longer races.

I played around with lots of things trying to get rid of it but as it only appeared on races it took a while. I finally nailed it whilst running XC races in the winter, it was down to using the thick gels, I now use the iso gels and don't get any problems at all.

I also recently solved my running off the bike in the form of a new one. I got a planet x stealth elite and the seat angle and my position on the bike solved it all.
That kind of brings you up to the beginning of 2010 which is when I changed my training totally with fantastic results.
