World Duathlon Championships 2010

Its been nearly 3 weeks since my Iron distance, I decided before the race that I would take 2 weeks off regardless. I've done a short easy run and a small pyramid session but that's all and nothing on the bike yet. I have some tendonitus in my shoulder which I believe was caused by next to no swimming in the lead up to the Outlaw due to a chest injury and then suddenly racing 2.4 miles.

This stops me swimming but running seems ok, I will let you know after a 5k park run on Saturday. Hopefully it will settle down a bit before I take on Arthur's Seat at the worlds. I think I've recovered fairly well although I did feel very tired the first weekend after. I don't seem to have picked up any other injuries that I can tell.

I've got the worlds on the 4th Sept then I'm starting a training plan for St Neot's Half in November where I'm going to try and beat my pb of 1:28 by getting under 1:25. I also have the Stoke-on-Trent section of the tour of Britain ride at the end of Sept which is a very hilly sportif with 100 miles of cycling.

Then its the Men's Health Survival or the Fittest on the 9th Oct, a 12k run with obstacles at every 1k. Should be interesting as its not something I've done before, I will try to keep you posted on how things go but this is all new to me so forgive me if I don't post regularly at first.
