What a great race!
We set off at 10:17am and met the haybale scramble after the first 100m, this wasn't too bad but only because we'd just started. The next was to hop over a wall but I managed to leave a little skin behind in the proces.
I started off at a reasonable pace and managed to keep it up through obstacles like climbing nets, ramps, ropes, old cars, walls to name just a few. There was also 2 river crossings which were my favourite as it was a nice respite from the running. I think being a triathlete helped out here as I'm used to swimming in cold water, most seemed to be walking across but I just dived in and started swimming. There was also a long slide into the 2nd crossing which was excellent.
It was hard going though and the final obstacle was an 8ft high wall, this looks much higher when your stood under it and need to climb over it. I tried a couple of times and got a little help by a fellow racer in the end so I waited at the top to return the favour.
I ached loads in the afternoon but all seems to have settled back down today and there's just a few tender spots left. Off out for a run soon, will try for 10 mile and see how it feels.
Definitely a race everyone should try at least once.
