The day after the rat race saw me out for an 11 mile run, maybe not the best thing to do but it felt ok as I kept the pace down to 8:29 a mile. After Saturday being a little cold I decided to wear a long sleeve top but the day turned out very warm so I was roasting most of the way round. It was good training for summer though, pity its so far away.
I went on the track on Tuesday where some were doing 8 x 800 and others wanted to do 8 x 600, I couldn't make my mind up so went for 4 x 800 then 4 x 600. I was doing around 82 for 400, the last effort had my legs cramping up though. Should have had a bit more to drink during the day I think.
Thursday was a 10k with a 2 mile effort in the middle which went really well once my legs got used to it. They still felt a little tired from the weekend but I'm only planning on running 3 times a week now so hopefully they will recover ok. I did the park run on Saturday wearing my mudrock xc shoes in a time of19:23 but I won't be wearing them again for it. There are 2 wooden bridges which when wet are very slippery and my shoes although fantastic on a true xc race made crossing those bridges like skating on ice.
After a break since Thurs I'm doing the Henlow 10 tomorrow, I will try for 6:30 pace again to see how it goes.
