Triathlon in 2011

Well its been a while since I updated this blog but its also been a while since my training took on any kind of structure. I was ill before Christmas and it just seemed to drag on even though I did no training for about 3 weeks. I did do the odd spinning session after those 3 though but still didn't feel 100%.

Anyway, I'm back to full training this week and it feels great :o)
I did 01:20 on the bike on Saturday with a 10 mile TT @ 75% MHR which came out at 19.6 mph. Not too bad, thought it was going to be worse than that. Sunday was a 50 min run, about 11k, followed by a 30 min spin on the bike.
I actually started my schedule on Tuesday with 30 min swim in the morning and a 35 min run early evening. Wednesday was supposed to be swim then 40 min bike but I didn't get to the pool and it was too wet and windy so I went to the gym and did a 50 min spin class at lunch then another 45 min one at 7pm.

I'm feeling pleasantly achey, if that's possible lol! My body knows its been working hard but its so good to be back to proper training too. I've started off this year doing the same IM plan as last year seeing as it worked so well. I'm only going to half IM distance though so won't be doing as much distance in the training. I am looking forward to seeing how my performance improves this year using HR training again.

A 45 min run with 20 @ 75% followed by a 45 min swim at 8pm tonight with the recently formed BRJ triathlon club. Not sure what their name is going to be yet as they haven't registered with BTF but I'm looking forward to training with a local tri club as the others are just a little bit to far.
